Will I Be Charged an Overstay Fee if My Flight Leaves After My Visa Exempt Stamp Expires?

Can someone confirm for me whether or not I would be charged an overstay in the following scenario:

My visa exempt stamp is valid until 15 April.

If my flight out of Bangkok leaves at 2am on 16 April, but I clear customs before midnight - am I overstaying? Or am I in “no mans land” on the other side of immigration at the airport and therefore ok?

This is of course assuming my flight would go ahead given the latest update on the continued ban on incoming flights to BKK...

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about whether they would incur an overstay charge if their flight leaves after the expiration of their visa exempt stamp, specifically if they clear customs just before midnight on the day before their visa expires. Community feedback indicated that typically, if the overstay is less than 24 hours and the passenger departs from the airport before their visa expires, they may not incur a fine.

I personally did the same as you last time I flight out from airport, passed the immigration BEFORE 12:00 and had no overstay to pay.

as I said you wouldn't have had an overstay anyway seeing as your overstay would have been under 24 hours

As a general rule people who have an overstay of under 24 hours get the 500 baht fine waived when flying out. You don't get the big overstay stamp in your passport, instead you get a small thai language only stamp that says overstay under 24 hours fine waived next to your triangular exit stamp.
