Hi. I applied for a Covid extension in Chiang Mai and they gave me an under consideration stamp which says I must return 'to this office in person' on 19th March. In the meantime we have come to Bangkok to organise my girlfriend's work permit. This is taking longer than expected (due to a cancelled visa application from the Madrid embassy showing on her record - which needs to be expunged) so we're staying another week in the Marriott in Bangkok, and then we intend to go to Phuket.
I was intending to fly up to Chiang Mai, get my visa extension and then fly back down to Bangkok the same day - then go to Phuket. But I'm now worried that the Marriott hotel will have logged a TM30 that I'm here now and so Chiang Mai will turn me away!
Can I/ should I go to Bangkok immigration instead in order to get my Covid extension? Or should I go back to Chiang Mai?
And/ or maybe I need to stay one night in a place in Chiang Mai and have them log a TM30 there for me again?!
Thank you so much for your help!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is advised to return to Chiang Mai to close the under consideration stamp for their Covid visa extension, as no other immigration office can process this particular request. They do not need additional documents beyond their passport to complete this process.
