HI all, and my eternal gratitude to all who make this group so incredibly valuable.
"Quick" question that I'll make less quick by trying to set out all my circumstances so as not to omit something pertinent:
I need to get an extension on my 60-day tourist visa. I have been living in Chiang Mai, but need to spend the next two weeks in Bangkok. Given the timing of my current visa expiring, it would make the most sense to apply for that extension in Bangkok (though not technically impossible for me to renew once I'm back in Chiang Mai, it would be cutting it a little closer, time-wise, than I'd like).
Assuming my hotel in Bangkok files a TM30 during my stay, will that work? Do I also need to bring proof of a TM30, or any sort of documentation regarding my stay/residence in Chiang Mai?
I know I would need to go to the Chaengwattana Road office, just want to be best prepared for whatever will happen once I'm there. Thanks so much!

If helpful/relevant: In December, I entered visa-exempt on my American passport. I applied for, and received, a 30-day extension in January. In February, just before that was set to expire, I left the country for two weeks (back to the States and to Europe), then arrived at BKK and entered on a 60-day tourist visa.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending a 60-day tourist visa while staying in Bangkok instead of Chiang Mai. They want to confirm if a TM30 form filed by their hotel will suffice and what additional documentation is required when applying at the Chaengwattana immigration office. A commenter reassured them that they can apply for the extension in any location in Thailand, emphasizing the importance of bringing the TM30 receipt, along with their passport and other necessary documents.
