Hello all, need some advice please. Im in the process of getting married in Bangkok. Paperwork has takes a while.

I'm on a British passort, currently on a 30 day tourist stamp.

New passport in December, since then: I've had 1 border bounce to Poi Pet + 30 day extension at CW, and then 2 flights out and back in- no extensions.

I need to leave/ extend again on the 16th of June.

What are my options? I think i only need another 30 days to get my paperwork all lined up for the marriage visa, we have most of it already done, just need to get a date from the local office in Bangkok.

I'm concerned i may be refused entry if i fly out again, Im thinking going to CW and getting an extension? But not sure if they will be sympathetic to my situation...SOS.

Thanks in advance for any valuable insight.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is seeking advice on extending their stay in Thailand while finalizing paperwork for marriage. They hold a British passport, are currently on a 30-day tourist stamp, and have made several border crossings. Key options for extending the stay include visiting the Laksi immigration office for a possible 30-day extension on their tourist stamp. There are concerns about potential issues during re-entry to Thailand after travel. Additional bureaucratic requirements such as form TM30 for foreign residents need to be addressed, regardless of entry method.

Hey all, just to clarify please.

A TM30 form is still required even if i flew into Bangkok? I was also required to complete a "Power of attorney Form notification form for where alien has stay".

I know previously i had to have these as i entered on a land border...does the same apply if i flew in?

Yes, TM30 required as it's the TM6 that was suspended for arrivals by air

Schedule enough time of jumping to the hoops of the paperwork in Thailand. Getting your translations certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (you need to make an appointment online) will take at least a few days if they are happy with the translation. If not - redo and add other days. As for finding an appointment at the Amphoe - we had to show up to get our documents checked and only then we received and appointment to come back - three weeks later. This might be different with other Amphoes outside Bangkok but the bottom line is that you need an extended period on your visa. Good luck

yep thanks for the heads up. This we have learnt. We have almost finished jumping all the hoops and hoops there have been. Should have it all sorted by the next week.

*Still looking for a decent Agent though

What makes a big difference is how long you stayed in these other countries before you came back into Thailand, and as soon as they take your picture, and fingerprint, they've got your full history with immigration in Thailand, including all your old passports. If they make a determination that you are not following a pattern of being a tourist visiting these other countries, then you can have trouble, even if you get a tourist visa. Get your extension at Lak Si immigration extension office, then if that isn't long enough, then maybe try flying out, and back, after a few days in Myanmar, then a tourist visa from the Embassy in Yangon. It is a beautiful country to visit, and as a tourist they will not let you anywhere near any danger. The tourist circuit is Yangon to Inle Lake, to Mandalay, to Bagan, or the reverse, and some just skipping Mandalay, saving for the next trip...hehe.

Get the extension. That shouldn't be an issue. You do run the risk of being denied entry especially as I'm going to assume that your history goes back beyond your new passport (which is irrelevant as they can see all of your history on the system)

if you were working on a long term visa you shouldn't need to worry about that other than perhaps it making it more obvious that this year you've been living here on inappropriate visas. I'd definitely still recommend the extension route though

If you're just on your visa exempt stamp it doesn't matter if immigration is sympathetic to you or not. You can get one 30 day extension per tourist entry.

You won't go to Chaeng Watthana though because that's only for if you entered with a visa. You'd go to IT Square Laksi office for the 30 day visa exempt stamp extension.
