Can I get a 30-day visa extension in Thailand with just a week of accommodation booking for my TM30?

Hello, me and my partner arrived in Chiang Mai on a 30 visa exempt visit on 22 August. We would like to get a visa extension for another 30 days.

My question is, for the TM30 do we need to book for a whole month? Or is it possible to only book for a week, because we’re not sure yet where we’re going to spend our time. Will the immigration accept proof of a week accomodation for the 30 days visa extension?

Thank you so much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether they can apply for a 30-day visa extension in Thailand with only a week's accommodation booked, rather than a full month, due to uncertainty about their travel plans. Comments suggest that the TM30 form, which reports the address of the stay, can be based on a short-term booking, and it is noted that any hotel can provide a TM30, but Airbnbs for less than a month are problematic.

Also IF you're in Chiang Mai go to the new immigration office at Central Chiang Mai (2nd floor)

NO one is ever there, people are skating in and out in like 15 minutes with their extensions

You need to submit a TM30 of the place you are staying at when you are applying for the extension. Any hotel will do. Avoid AirBnB, since AirBnB of less than a month are illegal in Thailand, and they won’t be able to provide you with a TM30.

1 night or 1 year doesn't matter. TM30 shows that you are staying at that address on the reporting date and it's supposed to be the latest information. It remains valid until you submit a new TM30, on the next day or years later.
