Why didn't my passport get stamped during my Non-O visa application and will immigration visit my residence?

Greetings: I entered VISA Exempt 05 May. I got a 30 Day Extension from MTT Office ( Due to expire 18 July).

Today I went to CW Office to apply for my 90 Day Non-O (Retirement). I had all the documents: Bank Letter, Proof Of International Transfer provided by my Thai Bank. TM-87 form filled out. Copy of my 1 Year Condo Rental Agreement. I was given a blue reciept with a date of 16 July.

Immigration Officer told me to return on 16 July. She DID NOT stamp my passport with "under consideration". She told me to write down my local phone number. She said that immigration (Might/Will) contact me and visit my residence and take photos. I thought this sounded strange but I just nodded and said "Chai Krupp"

I have heard of this ONLY Married VISAs. Will immigration actually call and visit me. Why didn't my Passport get stamped? I only got a blue reciept with a date 16 July Stamp on it?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The issues you're encountering with your Non-O visa application and the immigration process are relatively common. It is standard procedure that, during the application for an in-country Non-Immigrant visa like the Non-O, your passport may not receive an 'under consideration' stamp. Instead, you receive a blue receipt indicating when to return for the results of your application. As for the potential home visit by immigration, this practice is typically associated with spousal visas but can occur for various types of Non-O visas as well. In your case, it seems that immigration may want to verify your living situation, especially as it's your first Non-O application.

Let's sort this out people

This is 100% totally NORMAL

In BANGKOK at Chaengwattana in Section C-1 <- the section that issues in country Non-Immigrant type visas you need at least 15 days left on your current stamp to apply AND they will NOT put an under consideration stamp in your passport they stamp on the blue/green receipt paper the date you come back for the "results" (it IS an under consideration period but you're still here on your OLD stamp during it)

On the date the receipt says to go back you show up, get a queue for section C-1 and then just go over to that section, don't wait for your number to be called, show the blue/green receipt to one of the people at the desks. They'll take it and your passport and stamp the Non-Immigrant visa into it (stamp a USED stamp on it) and give you a new 90 day "admitted until" stamp.

Have you heard of immigration officers visiting and taking Residence photos for Non-O applicants based on retirement?

@Timmy *****
yep, totally have and it's totally normal, if they're gonna do it they'll call you, if they don't contact you by the date you go back to get the results they aren't gonna come visit.

thank you for the clear explanation!

The latest reports I have (as of 2 weeks ago) were that they are doing home visits for the issuing of Non-O visas based on retirement and marriage during the 2 weeks from when you apply and when you go back for the results.

You will get a Non-O in-country visa first. You didn't apply for an extension yet. 18 July is on the weekend that's why you were told to go on 16th July.

Okay, I understand now. "under consideration" stamps are given for only extensions.

"Under consideration-stamps" are for extensions, not for visas.

So that's normal

incorrect,

A friend of mine they did exactly that; a visit to his house, up country. It was his first application for the visa extension due to marriage to a Thai.
