TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on the type of visa to apply for as they are married to a Thai citizen and currently residing in Australia. They have received initial guidance from the Thai embassy in Sydney, indicating that a Non-Immigrant Spouse Visa (Non-O) is appropriate. The conversation provides insights on obtaining a 90-day single entry visa based on marriage, followed by options for extensions or multi-entry visas, along with tips on documentation required for the application process.

The visa choice is correct and it has a box you click on the thai consulate in Sydney that says Spouse & Family Members;

*************************************************************************

There's two ways to go about it

You either get a 90 day single entry Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai which costs AUD 120.

Come in get 90 days then put 400K baht in a thai bank account for 2 months and go apply for a year extension based on marriage at the immigration office for 1900baht

OR

You apply for a year long, multi-entry Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai which cost AUD 300.

Come in get 90 days, when that 90 days runs out, go to the border, stamp out of thailand, stamp in&out of another country and back in to thailand to get a new 90 day stamp and you do that every 3 months for the whole year

BUT

you don't need to bank any money here with this method and you can get almost 15 months of stay (in 90 day increments) on that year long visa..
