TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the process for her British husband to enter Thailand and transition from a tourist visa to a Non-O visa based on their marriage. The responses suggest that he can either apply for a Non-O visa before arriving for an initial 90-day stay or enter on a 30-day visa exemption, followed by applying for extensions based on tourism and his marriage. Additional advice includes obtaining a tourist visa in advance and information on the necessary requirements for the Non-O visa application.

And before more people going to argue about insurance, it is not listed on the website of the E-visa application or on the website of the Thai Embassy in London.

but when you complete the application it asks for insurance of $100k - like the required bank statement showing £10k, there's no mention of it until you complete the application, then it catches you out at the end.

yes he can get a tourist visa in his country, come here, get stamped in for 60 days and get a 30 day extension, probably even get a 60 day extension after that to visit thai family and then get a Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai by meeting the requirements at the immigration office

Have him get a tourist visa at the thai consulate in his country before he comes here

He has 2 options:

Apply for the Non Immigrant O visa based on being married before he makes his way into Thailand and get 90 days of stay, which give enough time to prepare the finances to apply later for the 1 year Exension of Stay based on being married.

Or

Get into Thailand using the 30 day Visa Exempt Entry, apply for Extensions of Stay based on tourism and visiting wife to get the time to prepare the financial requirements for the Non Immigrant O visa based on marriage.

Covid Insurance is for the Thailand pass and has nothing to do with the visa application.
