Hi group, I hope you can help, the girl at immigration didn't have a clue.

I arrived in Thailand 17th September, I've just got my non o visa today but Chiang Mai immigration have stamped my passport as admitted 25th November.

So which of the 3 dates is the start date for my 90 day report?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The start date for your 90-day report depends on your visa situation. If you just received your Non-O visa, the reporting period typically begins from your arrival date in Thailand (17th September) or from the date of your last visa stamp. Since you plan to apply for a one-year extension within the first 90 days, there will be no 90-day report due until after receiving that extension. It's important to clarify the recent immigration stamp of 25th November, as it may have been issued in error.

You`re getting a lot of «alternative facts» here, as always a lot of folks here more than willing to share what they think in lieu of actually knowing the facts. I have no idea why you were «stamped in» on Nov. 25th. - you might want to check that again with IO. What is factual: Your last visa (if you have had several or even visa-excempt) is the only valid stamp. Non O lasts 90 days and therefore no 90-day reporting. This reporting starts 90 days after you have received your one-year extension. Our western logic does not always follow Thai logic, but on this they are comparable. Good luck!

90 days from 17th Sept

If the OP entered the country on an extry stamp of 90 days or less on 17-Sep then the 90 day reporting count does not start then. It starts with a stamp in the passport allowing a stay of over 90 days which in this case will be when a 12 month extension of stay is inked in following the initial 90 day Non-O obtained in country.

that is different advice from other people, are you sure about it, or just guessing?

Your 90 report is based on your arrival date in Thailand or your previous 90 say report. Visits to immigration that do not involve 90 day reporting do not count as a 90 day report. In the eyes of immigration the 90 day report is a stand alone document

so do you remember when your first report after receiving your non o in country was?

Forget that.

All the others are right.

You enter and have 90 days time to get your year-extension (so your still not ther more than 90 days, thus nothing to do).

With the extension you also get a paper in your passport tell you “this is not an extension, just a reminder to do you 90 days before xx/xx/xxxx”.

I had to restart my NonO bc I messed up the monthly income so I did that twice after my first long term stay 10 years ago.

If you applied in country for your non-o then all the timers start at the stamp date of that visa. Your previous visa is now invalid. Since you would either need to apply for your one year extension within 90 days, there is no 90day report due till after you get your extension.

A Non-O visa should be good for 90 days from the point you get it. They've made a mistake with the date stamp so go back and get it corrected. As to 90 days report when you get your 12 month extension they should put a slip of paper in your passport with the date you need to report

i don't think they made a mistake, just backdated the start date to 25th Nov for some reason, the visa is to 22nd Feb.
John **********
@Phil ******
that makes no sense to me. What date did your previous stamp expire?

I just assumed my application was approved on 25th Nov, even though my appointment to collect wasn't until today.

@Phil ******
that would be odd, but maybe. I've never heard of it happening

my 30 day extension expires 17th December.

90 days from the 1st day that you enter.
Graham ******
@Ning *****
not on a 90 day entry stamp, there is no 90 day reporting

@Ning *****
are you sure, that differs from the advice above.

Is that an UNder Consideration stamp?

@Graham *****
no it's a non o visa.
Brandon ************
None. You don't start the timer until you're already on the 1-year extension since that's the first stamp you'll receive that can go over 90 days.

so I can ignore 90 days from entry to Thailand, which would be mid December?

@Phil ******
when you get your 1-year extension they will put a slip in your passport with your first reporting date
