Hi, everyone.

When am I going to do a 90-day notice?

I got my non-b visa in Laos last August 3, 2023 and the validity was until November 2,2023. Fortunately, I got my 1 year working visa last November 1,2023 and it will last until September 2024.

My question is, when should the 90 days start?. Is it August 3 or November 1?.

Someone said, I should've notified the immig last November 1 but I'm worried now because I didn't do that as I thought that 90 days will start once I get my 1year visa.

Thank you very much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is seeking clarification on when their 90-day reporting period begins after obtaining a 1-year work visa in Thailand. They received their initial NON-B visa in August 2023 and, after getting a 1-year extension on November 1, 2023, are unsure if the 90-day notice starts from the August date or the November date. A commenter indicates that typically the 90-day count begins with the issuance of the 1-year extension, and advises checking the passport for an immigration notification slip that usually states the due date.

You should have a small slip notifying the first 90-day report due date in your passport (a sample is attached. People find it stapled on the last page of your passport often. Check every single page of your passport again carefully.

Usually, the first 90-day counting starts when you get your 1-year extension (not visa anymore).

If you didn't check with your local immigration office about the first due date when you applied for your extension or didn't get the slip, the best is to ask your local office.

, thank you very much for answering my question. I really appreciate it. I may be confused about the terms "1-year visa, 1-year working visa, and 1-year extension". Are these terms the same?

I'm actually assuming that the words are the same. Please enlighten me.

So, I got my non-b visa. After getting a nonb visa, I got my work permit, and then I got a stamp on my passport (1-year duration, from Nov. 2023 to Sep 2023). What should be the right term for that stamp?. ๐Ÿ˜Š

, Read your stamp. It would say "extension of stay permitted up to xxx". This is an extension.

People call Non-B based on employment "working visa". 1-year visa is not applicable inside Thailand. You need to apply for a 1-year visa (multiple entry) at the Thai embassy/consulate outside Thailand.

"1-year visa" means multiple entry Non-immigrant type visas to be precise while some people confuse it with a 1-year extension.
