When does a visa extension in Thailand take effect if I apply before it expires?

Quick question, would appreciate any help! Iโ€™m a uk passport holder and currently in Thailand on first visa, it runs out on 15th and my plan was to do extension, if I go to immigration office Tomorow will the extension add another 30 days from the 15th, or from tomorows date? ๐Ÿ™ Thankyou
