A friend from UK is here (Phuket) on 30 day visa exempt and wants to extend for another 30 days. Is the extension from the date of the expiration of the initial stamp or from the date of applying for the extension? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, when you extend a 30-day visa exempt stay, the additional 30 days are added to the expiration date of your current visa stamp, not from the date of application for the extension.

The 30 days extension is ADDED to your current ending date.
