Hi!

I am now in Thailand and my tourist visa expires the 15th of july. I want to extend and was wondering if the exention is applicable from the date I go to the immigration office? So to get the max of my extention I have to go the 14th(since the 15th is a saturday)? Or is it possible to go earlier and ask for the extention to apply(be active) from the day my visa expires, and 30 day from that date?

Thank you for your help in advance😊🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for a 30-day extension on your tourist visa when you have 30 days or less remaining. It's advisable to apply at least 15 days before your visa expires, but there is no penalty for applying early. The extension adds 30 days to your current visa stamp, and you can visit any immigration office for the process.

It's + 30 days extra, not +30 days from applying, and they recommend you do it with 15 days left atleast

You can go early Raghilda

If you entered as a tourist (with a tourist visa or visa exempt without any visa at all) then you can apply for one 30 day extension that will be added onto the end of your current stamp.

You can apply when you have 30 days or less left except at Jomtien and Koh Samui where they only let you apply during the last week of your stay.
