Hi,

I have a 60 day tourist visa and would like to go for the 30 day extension at the local Thai immagration office. Does the extension add onto my existing visa or from the day I get it stamped? As I have 35 days left in my current visa

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 30-day extension on a Thai tourist visa is added to the end of your existing visa. The new period starts immediately after the original visa finishes, meaning you effectively receive a total of 90 days if you apply for the extension when you have 30 days or less remaining on your current visa.

I'm doing the same in Hua Hin, and they don't want to see me until about a week before expiry.

You will finish up with 90 days, so yes it is added on to your last day of original visa.

Your first day of the new visa starts the same time as your last day of the old visa finishes

It will be added to the end. Most offices allow you to go when you have 30 days or less left.

Jomtien and Samui only allow you to apply during your last week.
