Can someone point me to the official rule concerning when one can apply for extension of stay on the original 90 days non immigrant visa based on foreign child studying here. It's not strictly Thai visa related as my wife entered Thailand on her new visa and on applying for a visa for another country the embassy says that they need the extension of stay to prove her residency here, while I am telling them that che cannot apply yet as it can only be done about a month before expiry, they asked for the official rule..... grateful for any help!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking official rules regarding the timing for applying for an extension of stay on a 90-day non-immigrant O visa, specifically in relation to their wife, who requires this extension for visa purposes in another country. Responses indicate varying practices among different Immigration Offices in Thailand, with some allowing applications 30 to 45 days before the expiration, but a clear official guideline is not readily available.
