Hi I have non-O visa extension question - I have a 90 day e-visa from the UK (guardian visa as my son is in schook), to extend this do I need to have a thai bank account with a minimum amount deposited? And if so how do I go about opening a thai bank account?

The bank aren't happy with the stamp that is in my passport but I'm not clear on what the problem is - can I do online anywhere? Any advice welcome!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your Non-O visa as a guardian of a child in school, you need to have a Thai bank account with a deposit of at least 500,000 Thai baht in your name. It is recommended to maintain this amount in the account for at least one month prior to your visa extension application. If the bank is hesitant due to the stamp in your passport, consider visiting different banks until you find one that will allow you to open an account. Online banking options may also be limited, so be prepared for in-person visits.

Be aware that the funds must be in a Thai bank at least 1 month prior applications, so do not have to much patience by finding a bank

As you have a 90 day Non O Visa as Guardian of a child in School in Thailand ..

You can get a one year extension of stay as guardian by depositing 500,000 Thai baht in a Thai bank account in your name only.

You will need to find a Thai Bank to open the account for you. Patience is needed...if one bank denies to open the account...go to another.

Good Luck.

MUST go bank to bank. Persistence will get you the account... Even with other branches of the same Thai bank.
