I have a couple of questions about a renewal of an extension of stay based on retirement.

1. Is it possible to move the annual date to a time where I will be more regularly in Thailand ( from April to July)

2. Can I do this extension while traveling around Thailand on a holiday?

3. If I am at the address on my TM30 do I need to provide the following to immigration... house book, ID card of landlady and rental agreement. I don't have any of these things but I am not sure if I need them?

Thank you!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster inquires about renewing their extension of stay based on retirement and raises three main questions: 1) Can they change their annual renewal date from April to July? 2) Can they apply for the extension while traveling around Thailand? 3) Do they need to present their house book, landlady's ID, and rental agreement if they are at the address listed on their TM30? Comments clarify that the renewal date cannot be altered without exiting Thailand and that the extension application must be done at the local immigration office. Additionally, necessary documentation such as the TM30 form, a lease, and potentially the landlord's ID is generally required.

The OP is as backpacker level of trying to live in Thai. Non O visa is appropriate.

See if you can get the house book (Yellow Book), if renting, highly impossible.

Wihout that, you are an accidential tourist. Not entitled to anything.

I am in the same situation. I am told: start from scratch or keep the date.

A few years ago, I left and restarted. Not a big deal just a few visits to immigration, bank, photocopy machine and pictures...maybe 3000 baht all in including petrol and coffees. The first visit to immigration was to get the list and ask any questions. Then acquire the 90-day. Then the bank visit and one-year extension in the same day.

I take it this retirement extension is based on a Non-O not a Non-OA as, if it was a Non-OA, you could get a new extension with insurance up to the month which you want to use as your new extension date in the future.

Some people use the expiry of one passport to change their next extension date. For example if their passport expires in July but their usual extension is in December then they get a new extension but it will only be valid until July. They get a new passport and renew in July. Extensions going forward are now in July.

It’s an option but may or may not work for you.

You need really to have a stable anchor point address in thailand ... and take holidays from there outside of immigration time needs

1. No, only way to change that date is to exit without a re-entry permit cancelling the extension you're on, come back in and start over from scratch.

2. No, you apply for the extension at the immigration office where you live

3. Yes, as a rule you need a TM 30, lease, sometimes landlord thai ID, and House book listing

Check with your immigration office to get the hand out listing the requirements for the retirement extension.
