# ✨ DTV Workation Visa *– Approved 12 days – No question asked!** *
Here’s how it went:
* Applied online (Jakarta, Indonesia): Sunday, May 4th
* Requested additional document (proof of stay in Indonesia): May 15th
* Approved: May 16th at 10:00 AM
As a self-directed portfolio manager with 80% of my assets in crypto, I wanted to be as transparent and detailed as possible. My application included:
* A 1-year transaction history from three traditional bank accounts supported by screenshots of those bank statements.
* A 3 months transaction history of my neobank account, also supported with a screenshot (used for daily expenses).
* A screenshot of one of my crypto portfolios
* A cover letter explaining my financial situation and lifestyle.
* A brief overview of my digital nomad journey through dozens of countries.
* A summary of my funds, how I manage them, and all values converted to THB.
The process was surprisingly smooth — just 12 days from start to finish, knowing that it includes one full weekend and 3 days holiday!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV Workation Visa application process can be surprisingly quick; one individual reported an approval within just 12 days after applying online from Jakarta, Indonesia. Important aspects of their application included substantial proof of funds, such as transaction histories from bank accounts and a detailed cover letter outlining their financial situation and lifestyle as a digital nomad. In the comments, other users inquire about specific details of the application, such as which address to provide and the necessity of having a registered business. It's noted that being transparent and providing a solid portfolio can be sufficient for the application.
I personally don't have a home address. But, as far as I can remember they ask for the current location. I attached an Airbnb doc. Then, they requested a copy of the passport stamp or a stay permit as detailed in my post.
actually, they need a proof that you are in the same country as the embassy you are applying through.... Sometimes they ask for pictures and a copy of receipts in that country 😂
You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.
Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
I know someone similar in Taipei approved via a substantial self managed portfolio, no registration of business but able to prove it is legit. Also in London, investors approved without business registration.
I believe that the way you present yourself without creating confusion plays a role. A lot of people try to be sneaky and they get caught in plain sight
Thanks man. In the requirements, there is no mention of having a business. But, I guess gotta be convincing through a portfolio/cover letter explaining the situation.
indeed it's not part of the funding and I didn't try to include it that was. but it was important to present it in a professional fashion as we are required to show a portfolio and a digital nomad lifestyle.
