Hi All. A quick question regarding a non imm O-A visa. My wife and I from the U.K. are moving to BKK and are about to start our visa procedures. I have been on the Thai websites and have researched other people’s experiences. Are the required finances of 65000k monthly Salary and or 800,000k savings required for each of us or can it be combined as a married couple? Many thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether the financial requirements for a Non-Immigrant O-A visa can be combined for him and his wife as a married couple, instead of each meeting the individual criteria. A commenter clarifies that the financial requirements are for the visa application from the Thai consulate in their home country and that the requirements differ from the yearly extension sought within Thailand.

Okay lets sort out what you're trying to do first.

You're going to get a year long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O-A visa from the thai consulate in your country BEFORE you wing your way here right? That's the visa that requires a police background check, a medical certificate and you can use the money in your bank account in your country to meet the financial requirements.

You're confusing the requirements for a yearly extension of stay gotten INSIDE the country with the requirements for a year long Non-O-A visa gotten from OUTSIDE the country at the thai consulate. They are totally different.

You follow the information on this link to get one from the thai consulate in London. Scroll down to the Non-Immigrant Type O-A (Long Stay), That's the visa you two would want to get.

@Steve *******
, it doesn't matter at all whether you go for the 90 day, single entry Non-O or a 60 day, single entry tourist visa and a 30 day extension.

Tod Daniels I won’t be applying for my O-A visa until end of October when I return to the UK However, I need to be in Thailand for 75 days as of next month would I be better obtaining a non immigrant O visa which covers my 75 days or a tourist visa and an extension of stay. Thanks in anticipation
