TLDR : Answer Summary
A French citizen planning a 75-day trip to Thailand in April 2024 should consider obtaining a 60-day tourist visa, which can be extended for an additional 30 days while in Thailand. It is advisable to apply for this visa at the nearest Thai embassy. Various comments also suggest planning ahead, as processing times may vary.

Do take plenty of time to organize the visa with the Thai embassy in France. 5 weeks was not enough to organise our 60 day tourist visa and we lost our money. They are French and slow!

6 weeks ,that’s the delay,as they start to look at your application 18 days after payement, and even with a missing document in pdf that we have to resend ,it was approved on time…

they looked at it 1 day before we were flying, so after almost 5 weeks and then needed more documents. They told us to move our flight (1 day before we were leaving French territory, 2 weeks before entering Thailand) or the was no use in sending them the documents.

They are pretty useless. My friend was traveling from the Netherlands and had it sorted in 2 weeks.

probably because of the 2 weeks before leaving from another country.

Buy an actual single entry tourist visa from the Thai embassy closest to you. This gives you 60 days on entry into Thailand, then you can extend it for 30 more days at immigration inside Thailand.

And get some onward travel within 60 days, you'll need it to board the flight and technically to enter Thailand as well, although it's rarely asked for by Thai Immigration.
