TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are staying in Thailand for 30 days, you generally have the option to receive a visa exemption, which allows you to enter without a visa for up to 45 days if you are from certain countries. Alternatively, you can obtain a tourist visa beforehand if you're not eligible for the visa exemption. Currently, Thailand also offers a 45-day visa on arrival, which can be extended for another 45 days, allowing for a total stay of 90 days.

you don't qualify for visa on arrival Your nationality instead qualifies for 45 day visa exempt entry where you just show up and don't need to buy a visa on arrival

You can only get a tourist visa outside the country.

If your passport is from certain countries, you can get visa exempt which means no visa at all and you'll be stamped in for 45 days.
