Question for US citizens: Iβm in India right now visiting for the next 3 months. I want to apply for a 90 day visa for Thailand from here. Since Iβm away from home, how can I get my 90 day visa to enter Thailand? I intend to do multiple extensions from that while working on my retirement visa within Thailand.
Thank you much in advance π

TLDR : Answer Summary
A US citizen currently in India seeking to apply for a Thai visa should look for the Thai embassy or consulate in India to check specific requirements. It's important to note that there is no actual 90-day tourist visa; instead, the typical tourist visa allows for a 60-day stay, which can be extended for an additional 30 days. To obtain a visa, the individual must apply before arriving in Thailand, not rely on visa-on-arrival options for tourists which are not available for US passport holders.
There's no 90-day visa for tourists. There is a 60-day Tourist Visa, which gets you stamped in for 60 days on entry. Within 30 days of expiry you can apply for a further 30 days extension
No. Either you get a Tourist visa in a Thai embassy or consulate in India, or you just show up in Thailand and you get a free 30 day exempt stamp, which you can extend once for 30 more days for 1'900 BATHS.
oh okay π I will definitely do that. I was in Nepal couple months ago and their visa on arrival is 30, 60, 90 days you pick. It was sweet and easy. I picked 30 and it was $230. and itβs done.
nope you need to get the visa before you leave. If you turn up without a visa you will enter visa exempt which only gives you 30 days, which you can extend for 30 days giving a total of 60 days

You find the website for the Thai embassy or consulate that you want to apply at and see what their requirements are. Then you gather the requirements, make an appointment if they require it, then go and apply for the visa.
