I'm going to Chaeng Wattana this week to get another yearly extension based on being parent to a Thai child. Searched this group before posting but I've been unable to find what I'm looking for which is the latest list of the supporting documentation required for that extension. I ask because these things can and do change in the year between applications.

Last time I got caught out on not having a letter from the int'l kindergarten my daughter attends stating she was enrolled there and a photo of me, the sprog and her mother in the lounge and in front of the condo building.

I've done all the legitimization stuff years ago so not worried about that but I've heard rumblings that the 400k apparently needs to be seasoned for two months like it has to be for marriage and retirement extensions. Is this the case at Chaeng Wattana?

Anyway, thanks for the list in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking the latest list of supporting documents required for obtaining a yearly extension based on being a parent to a Thai child at Chaeng Wattana. They mention a previous experience where missing documents led to issues and inquire about the necessity of having 400K baht seasoned in a bank account. Commenters provide detailed updates and confirm that the necessary documentation includes legitimization documents, ID copies, photos with the child and mother at various locations, a letter from the school, and a bank statement. It's noted that there is no seasoning requirement for the funds this year.

***UPDATE*** Got the 1 year extension (well, the "under consideration" stamp) and thought I'd share some of the nuances at Chaeng Watthana.

In addition to

Legitimization documentation,

Condo lease,

Copies of landlord's ID card and house book,

Copies of child's and mother's ID card, house book,

Picture with mother & child in front of condo building ,

Picture with mother & child by front door with unit number visible

Picture with mother & child in the lounge

Picture with child and in front his/her school/kindergarten

Original letter from school acknowledging enrolment

Letter from your bank showing minimum 400K

A hand-drawn map of your house/condo's location . . . . . .

you'll ALSO need a bank statement going back 3 months and a photocopy of the actual bank book. Also, even though I'm told there's no written requirement for the child to actually live with you to get the extension, Chaeng Watthana immigration won't issue it if the kid doesn't.

Thank God it's only once a year

There is no seasoning requirement on the banked money for supporting half-thai children. It's just 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only. You'd need the bank letter and to update the bank book the day you apply.

I'd say take the same documentation you had last year because there are no new rules.

Make sure they're not the same photos as last year ;) . Most people have ones of the child and you in front of the address of your house, sitting in the house, in front of the school in her uniform, and that's about it.
