What are the requirements for proving funds and documents for a second marriage extension in Thailand?

I have a couple of questions about my 2nd marriage extension. My current extension expires October 13th and I plan to apply for my next one September 20th. I visited Chiang Mai immigration yesterday to pickup application forms.

My first question is about the proof of funds for an extension based on marriage.

I updated my bank book yesterday for the first time in months and it only shows my balance going back to August 20th. I’m kicking myself over this, it seems stupid I know, in the future I will try to remember to update the book more often. I’ve had the 400k in since April but the last line before the August 20th update shows my balance going below 400 in March.

Will this cause a problem with proving I’ve had the 400k seasoned for 2 months? Last year along with my bank guarantee letter I also received a 6 month statement, will this suffice to show that I have had the money for the correct amount of time?

I am also wondering if I need an updated Kor Ror 2 for my application. The volunteer at immigration told me the old one is fine but I’m not sure he completely understood what the Kor Ror 2 is.

Thanks in advance for your help, I appreciate it.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the requirements for extending their marriage-based visa in Thailand, specifically regarding proof of funds and the necessary documents. They expressed concern about their bank statement showing only recent transactions and possibly affecting their application for the extension, which requires evidence of having maintained 400,000 THB in their account for two months. They also questioned the need for an updated Kor Ror 2 document for their application. Responses from other community members suggested obtaining a detailed bank statement to demonstrate compliance with the funds requirement and recommended getting an updated Kor Ror 2 as a precaution.

I went below 400k for a short time, they start the 2 months again from the time it goes up to 400k again I will remember next time

You can pay 200 baht to the bank, they will give you a full statement from 1 Jan 2021 to today. Ask the staff at the bank to stamp it. Submit along with bank book copy. Happens to me often.

Whether you will or won't need an updated Kor Ror 2 is totally the call of the immigration officer you're in front of BUT seeing as it's only 20 baht and available at any Amphur I'd go get a new one just in case.

I figured it would be good to get one just for piece of mind. Any idea f it needs to be dated the same day I apply like the bank guarantee letter?

Kor Ror 2's are dated the date you apply for it. It's just a form all in thai.

They don't need one dated the day you apply for your extension or the day you get the bank letter, it just has to be fairly new. (less than a year old)

Start trying to update your bank book once a month because the updating machines at most banks won't print a detail transaction record on the books if it's over xxx dates, they just print a money in money out and the balance

Go to your branch and order a detail transaction history (most banks can print 6 months on the spot) and take that along with the bank letter and bank book updated the day you go apply for the extension.

... I presume if no money has moved in or out then there is nothing to update . Apologies if I’m missing something here Tod.

yep, your missing something, you need to update the bank book the date you apply for the extension and you need the bank letter too

Thanks for the reply Tod. I was worried I’d screwed my self here but my wife told me that this sign from CM immigration asks for a bank book or a statement.

Is there any reason I would need a 12 month instead of a 6 month to show the 2 month seasoning? I think the 6 month can be printed same day but the 12 month might take a week like you mentioned.

@Michael *******
right you're getting a marriage extension and it only needs to show the previous 2 months account history, just order it when you get the bank letter printed off and you'll be fine. Sorry I got my wires mixed up about that 😕 I edited my earlier comment
