I have a couple of questions about my 2nd marriage extension. My current extension expires October 13th and I plan to apply for my next one September 20th. I visited Chiang Mai immigration yesterday to pickup application forms.
My first question is about the proof of funds for an extension based on marriage.
I updated my bank book yesterday for the first time in months and it only shows my balance going back to August 20th. I’m kicking myself over this, it seems stupid I know, in the future I will try to remember to update the book more often. I’ve had the 400k in since April but the last line before the August 20th update shows my balance going below 400 in March.
Will this cause a problem with proving I’ve had the 400k seasoned for 2 months? Last year along with my bank guarantee letter I also received a 6 month statement, will this suffice to show that I have had the money for the correct amount of time?
I am also wondering if I need an updated Kor Ror 2 for my application. The volunteer at immigration told me the old one is fine but I’m not sure he completely understood what the Kor Ror 2 is.
Thanks in advance for your help, I appreciate it.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the requirements for extending their marriage-based visa in Thailand, specifically regarding proof of funds and the necessary documents. They expressed concern about their bank statement showing only recent transactions and possibly affecting their application for the extension, which requires evidence of having maintained 400,000 THB in their account for two months. They also questioned the need for an updated Kor Ror 2 document for their application. Responses from other community members suggested obtaining a detailed bank statement to demonstrate compliance with the funds requirement and recommended getting an updated Kor Ror 2 as a precaution.
