What are the required documents for extending a Non-Immigrant O Visa and Child's ED Visa in Thailand?

Good morning, apologies for the long post, will be going to Chaeng Watthana tomorrow to apply for the first extension of my non immigrant o visa (guardian) and ED visa of my children, I would

like to make sure I have the correct documents can you help me list them? Do the children have to come with me? We are all expat (italian) thanks for the help.

So far this is what my children’s school told me:

The required documents for visa extension to long-term visa:

For Student:

1. Original passport and departure card

2. Two of 4x6 cm. sized photos; white back ground, straight, no smiling, formal/casual (sleeveless are not allowed)

3. Immigration Fees:

Visa extension: 1900 THB/person

Re-entry permit

Single entry: 1000 THB/person

Multiple entry: 3800 THB/ person

For Guardian:

1. Original passport and departure card

2. Two of 4x6 cm. sized photos; white back ground, straight, no smiling, formal/casual (sleeveless are not allowed)

3. Each parent must provide a deposit of 500,000 THB remains in Thai Nationality Bank Account together original bankbook. First year visa extension, the deposit must remain in account at least 1 month before the extension date. The second year onward, the deposit must remain in the account at least 3 months prior the visa extension date.

4. Original birth certificate of each child (1 child per 1 parent). If it's not in English, it is required to be translated into English and certified true copy by your embassy in Thailand.

5. Immigration Fees:

5.1 Visa extension: 1900 THB/person

5.2 Re-entry permit

Single entry: 1000 THB/person

Multiple entry: 3800 THB/ person

Thanks, so it only works in Explorer. I tried in Firefox and Chrome, both no go, but with Internet Explorer Extension in Chrome it works.

And when I click on the box left of the extension I am wanting to look at it highlights up in a pink color and the box with the information opens up.

In the case of being a family member of an alien who has been permitted a temporary stay in the Kingdom

for study in an educational institution according to Clauses 2.8 or 2.9 hereof (applicable only to parents,

spouse, children, adopted children, or spouse’s children):

Criteria for Consideration

(1) The alien must have been granted a non-immigrant visa (NON-IM).

(2) The alien must have proof of relationship.

(3) In the case of spouse, the relationship must be de jure and de facto; or

(4) In the case of children, adopted children, or spouse’s children, said children, adopted children,

and spouse’s children must not be married, must live with the alien as part of the family, and must

not be over 20 years of age; or

(5) In the case of parents, funds must be deposited in a bank in Thailand, under the father’s or the

mother’s name, of no less than Baht 500,000 for the past three months. For the first year only, the

applicant must have proof of a deposit account in which said amount of funds has been maintained

for no less than 30 days prior to the filing date.

Documents to be submitted

1. Application form

2. Copy of applicant’s passport

3. Copy of the passport of the alien who has been permitted to stay in the Kingdom for education

purposes

4. Copy of documents showing proof of relationship, such as a marriage certificate, a birth

certificate, registration of child legitimization, household registration certificate, child adoption

registration certificate, or other evidence issued by the government or relevant agency

5. Only in the case of Criterion (5), the applicant must attach a funds deposit certificate issued by a

bank in Thailand and a copy of a bankbook.

I like to help you, but I dont have a list of all specific requirements of all Immigration Offices in Thailand. I try to make such a list to help people in the future, so if you like to update what is the correct list, future members and I will thank you in advance.

That’s what I’ll do, even if last time I went and showed if the multi language birth certificate I got was ok the guy simply didn’t understand and said generically yes.... so I’ll try and prepare all the stuff go without children and see how it goes.....

You can visit the Immigration and ask the hand out with the requirements. Ask also if the children need to join. A short visit and you have all their specific requirements in hand, the list is normally in English and Thai.

Will do once I find out myself was hoping would find info here, as the school is telling me some info, on the immigration website it’s different but confusing.... I’ll probably have to go there a few times then... do you think children need to come with me?
