TLDR : Answer Summary
To transfer a visa to a new passport in Thailand, you must understand that a visa sticker cannot be transferred. However, an extension of stay can be transferred at the office that issued it. To do this, bring both passports and a letter from your embassy stating you have changed your passport number to the immigration office. Requirements may vary by office, but typically you will need to fill out a form and provide copies of both passports. Generally, this service is offered for free.

You don't need to.

All that's needed is to carry the old passport with the new one.

Been through that with immigration.

If the passport was renewed by your embassy/or organization in Thailand then you will have been given a letter stating that you’ve changed passport number from A to B. Take that along with both your passports to the office that stamped it.

Different offices may have different requirements but generally there’s a form to fill out, and you’ll need copies of old and new passports.

The service should be free.

A visa - as in a sticker in your passport - cannot be transferred.

An extension of stay stamp can be transferred by the office that issued the stamp.
