TLDR : Answer Summary
If you have a new passport but an old Thai visa in your old passport, take both to your local Thai Immigration office to request the transfer of your visa or extension of stay to the new passport. Ensure you have copies of necessary passport pages, visa forms, and possibly a letter from your embassy for the transfer. Experiences shared indicate that the process is generally straightforward, though requirements may vary slightly based on the immigration office.

serving as a Moderator on 4 forums dealing with Thai Immigration and Visa issues, I have learned to decipher and try to understand what someone is trying to say and, reply with a helpful answer.

When I read English... That's a passport from the UK.

When I read American... that's a passport from the USA.

AND so on....

Hope all is well with you...

Take care and Good Night Thailand

@James *******
that can not be so because an English passport does not exist.

@Stephen ******
Pardon me... TROLLING this is not helpful to anyone. How about you providing a correct answer to the question?
Stephen *******
@James *******
if he had an English passport, as he claims, then there is no correct answer.

@James *******
yes. It is not an English passport. There is no such thing.

@Stephen ******
It's the same procedure with any passport in the transfer of visas or extension of stay to the new passport.

I just did this. Super easy. You need a copy of every page of your old passport and the first page of the new one. You need a copy of your TM 30 and 90 day report. You also need the transfer visa form filled out.

Contact the British embassy to send you a form to get it transferred, then once complete take it to your local immigration office
James ********
@Steve ********
they do NOT issue the letters anymore. Thai Immigration is aware of that fact.

The letters are no longer being issued by Embassy's as of recent.

@James *******
that depends on your nationality or the embassy. UK embassy does not, but some still issue a letter with a new passport.

Take both Old and New passports to your local Thai Immigration office AND ask them to transfer the extension of stay now in the Old passport to the New passport.
