A friend arrived at Suvarnabhumi visa exempt and was (we assume) accidentally stamped in for 60 days. Visitors from his country are only permitted 14 days visa exempt. Any idea what might happen if he follows what's been stamped and stays say a total of 3 weeks?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A friend entered Thailand via Suvarnabhumi Airport with a presumed visa exemption but received a 60-day stamp, while his nationality is only entitled to a 14-day visa exemption. The consensus is that he should return to the airport to correct the stamp or leave by the 14th day to avoid overstaying. Overstaying beyond the 14 days would result in a 500 baht daily fine for additional days up to 7 days, totaling possibly 3500 baht upon departure.
The ONLY country that gets 14 day free entry are Burmese if they fly in (they need a visa to enter by land)
They should go back to the airport and get that stamp corrected OR failing that they should leave on/by the 14th day
It is the passport holders responsibility to check their stamp. People get "bad stamped", and getting a stamp for longer than you're supposed to doesn't mean you can stay that long ๐
If they stay 3 weeks they would get the 14 days free entry and then another 7 days at 500 baht a day overstay fine or 3500baht when they stamp out
