What should my friend do about receiving a 30-day stamp instead of a 60-day stamp at Don Muang Airport in Thailand?

Hi all.

I know this has happened many times before but my friend would like some clarification on the quickest and easiest way to fix an immigration fuck up. He is on a tourist visa and has travelled to KL to start his visa again. Thinking that he would get a 60 day stamp with an option to extend for a further 30 days. It seems that immigration at Don Muang have only given him a 30 day stamp. (See photo)

Please advise. Does he have to go back to the immigration office at the airport?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on how to resolve a visa stamping issue, specifically regarding receiving a 30-day entry stamp instead of the expected 60 days upon returning to Thailand from Kuala Lumpur. Previous commenters suggest visiting the local immigration office for corrections, emphasizing that errors like this occur frequently. It's recommended to address the mistake at the nearest immigration office rather than going back to the airport.

that's one crappy stamp correction :O ;)

okay he's not the first person in the history of thailand to get stamped in wrong. Have him go to the immigration office in the area where they are staying and they'll correct the stamp for free.

Many MANY people get stamped in wrong every day, and this is one reason why you should ALWAYZ check your entry stamp BEFORE you walk away from passport control when you enter the country

They just stamped wrong (happens all the time) you can go to Changwattana and explain and do your extension and you will have a total of 90 days
