Question - Before leaving USA I obtained a 60 single entry tourist visa stamp valid Jan 9 2020 to April 8th 2020. My plan was to stay in Thailand for 60 days, then go to Koh Samui for an additional 30 then flying out of Thailand. I just now noticed when I entered Thailand on Feb 1st the officer stamped until March 1 2020. I had shown him the tourist visa but neglected to double check his stamp. Worried, was planning to go to Koh Samui towards end of March for 30 more days. Advise??

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about an incorrect immigration stamp received in Thailand, and is seeking advice on what to do next. Responses suggest visiting the immigration office promptly to explain the situation, check the entry stamp for correct visa type, and potentially receive an extension for the intended stay.

Look at your rectangular entry stamp that they put in your passport when you stamped in

What does it have in the visa type area ?

If it has a ผ.30 it means you were stamped in wrong on a 30 day visa exempt entry and not a 60 day tourist visa entry. Another thing to look at is the actual tourist visa sticker from the thai consulate. Does it have any strike thrus or is it stamped used? If not again, they didn't stamp you in on it and you need to go sort this out the sooner the better.

You will NOT be fined for overstay when you go to get the stamp corrected

Okay, GO to the immigration office SOON, point out you were stamped in wrong you're right a tourist visa gets you stamped in for 60 days NOT 30. They should correct the stamp AND then add the 30 day extension on to your new expiration date.
