Hello, does anyone have any experience with this situation?

A friend of mine has a multiple entry tourist visa and he entered Thailand 2 days ago with it but they gave him a 30 day visa exempt stamp by accident. He didn't check his passport until today (two days later). Does anyone know if it can be corrected at his local immigration office (Ratchaburi) or if he has to return to the airport (Suvarnabhumi)? Or if it's now impossible to correct it?

Any info would be great.

Thank you

Answer summary

A user is seeking advice on how to correct a mistake made when entering Thailand with a multiple-entry tourist visa. Instead of a correct visa stamp, their friend received a 30-day visa exemption stamp. Community responses suggest that it is possible to correct the mistake at a local immigration office, such as Ratchaburi, though some users caution that certain offices may require the person to return to the airport where the error occurred for correction.

, your friend is far from the first person to be stamped in with the wrong entry stamp without noticing it.

Send them to the immigration office where ever they are staying to get the stamp corrected.

Keep in mind SOME immigration offices will send you back to where you got the original stamp rather than just correct it at their office..

Good Luck

Or go back to the airport and get them to do it there.
