TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether to use a Thai address or a home country address in a visa application. The participant living in Thailand for 1.5-2 years is unsure of which address to provide. Additionally, guidance is sought on how to list their birthplace, having been born in Russia but with their passport stating USSR. Comments suggest using the current name of the country, Russia, for the birthplace and reflect on official documents for accurate information. There is also advice to contact the embassy for clarity on these details.
Most online systems don’t list every country that existed. They get a list of current countries from a database. People who were born in Leipzig don’t put “East Germany” as their birthplace either.
choose the name of the country/territory where it is now called, as the former USSR is now 15 different countries, since unable to choose USSR or fill in custom entry
