What should I do if the Canada embassy requires additional documents from a Thai clinic and the doctor is reluctant to provide them?

Everything looks good.

But the Canada embassy requested two more documents.

The license for the clinic, and Thai ID of the doctor.

I assume they want to assure it’s a real clinic

So far the doctor doesn’t want to give ID because of possible scam And also they don’t want to scan business license but someone can come in and take photo of it.

I didn’t expect these issues from this clinic. So I’m not sure what I am going to do next.

I certainly can’t give up, this is my second time applying because the first one I made a mistake!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The author is facing issues with the Canada embassy which has requested two additional documents for their visa application: the clinic's operating license and the Thai ID of the doctor. The doctor is unwilling to provide the ID due to concerns about scams, and the author is unsure of how to proceed after previously making an application error. The discussion includes suggestions for obtaining necessary documents, the credibility of clinics, and the overall process of applying for medical-related visas in Thailand.

Why does the doctor think it's a scam? Have you actually paid for the process? Where is the clinic? Do you know someone that can go take the photos for you? I'd ask if he can send it directly to the Thai embassy referring your name.

Some guys seem to be very desperate trying to get a DTV…it’s not the holy grail…

@Ko ******
does the OP look desperate? he's just trying to avail to the option, and then getting issues thrown in front of him.

@Rogerio *****
he sounds desperate…same as many others here…who trying everything just to get the visa.

@Ko ******
that seems like projection to me. People apply because it's available, and then if you make a mistake, you apply again. There's no despair in trying again. But whatever.

People need to be sure they have all their ducks in a row before submitting an application. Which includes being prepared to submit full documentation for businesses and owners under the soft power category.

@Wannikea ********
that's correct but then the reality is different reasons and different embassies means you have no idea what actually being prepared is. The ID of the doctor?? that's ridiculous. What's next? the rental agreement/lease of the clinic matching the doctor's name??..

well, we don't know the type of procedure or the quality and reputation of the clinic, so possibly it's justified, nor do we know if the treatment document was on letterhead with the doctors info, or just signed by a nurse at reception. I'm thinking it didn't look too professional from the getgo.

You can explain their logic post-fact, but I don't think it's the embassy's job to determine reputation or quality of a clinic to where they're checking the credentials of the doctor and valid license. There's over 4500 cosmetic clinics in Thailand alone. Simply going online to see it exists would've been sufficient. It's an arbitrary overreach imho, which is in line with what we know how different and random the requirements are at different embassy locations.

Try the doctor's license likely displayed on the wall instead of his ID. Same for clinic business license. Include a brief note that the doctor is reluctant to not share his Thai ID card.

does the Doctor appear as licensed with the Thailand Medical Board .... Hmmmmm 🤔🤔
James ********
And has hospital staff recognition at a major Thai hospital?
Wannikea *********
@James *******
let's certainly hope so, especially if the treatment is a vasectomy with a long scalpel;)

the doctor's credentials should be available to see at the hospital and medical license board. Get a COPY from the hospital international departments

I completely understand the doctor. Said so, why don't you make the necessary arrangements for that he can send by email directly to the Embassy (to an official email address/fax number) the required documents? You can argue to the Embassy he's willing to send them, but not give them to you, what's completely understandable. Both parties might agree.

he only solution is try big hospitals ,, yeah more expensive but they will give you all the documents you need ,, after you arrive to Thailand go to your appointment and after that you can follow up with different clinics if you want
