I showed my pay slips for 6 months back, bank account balance and transaction ls for 6 months back, letter of approval for employer, work contract.. Everything.
For some reason, the lady asked to see the ID or passport of the company owner, which was not available of course. My current employer is a multi billion dollar company and of course no one will give the person document of the owner.
I was very confused by this request, in western countries you don't hand over such personal information. I never expected them to ask for such private information which has nothing to do with my request.
She eventually accepted my documents and now waiting for the decision, but I am still confused by the request to see personal documents of the company owner, specially when it is a large company and not my own company.
Posting it for other to learn, have a nice day everyone

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster shares their experience applying for a visa as a remote employee in Hanoi, where an embassy official unexpectedly requested the ID or passport of their employer's owner, causing confusion. Despite the intrusive request, the official eventually accepted the application. The conversation highlights various opinions on the reasoning behind such requests, possible privacy protocol differences, and personal experiences with embassy staff.
I got it from Hanoi embassy too, that woman it’s incredibly stupid and lazy and most of the things
She ask for don’t make sense, I’m a freelance and she asked me for my employer id too which doesn’t make sense but at the end she accepted it. Don’t worry, once she checks the info and take usually they accept the visa in a couple of days
exactly. But in any case if Thailand is looking for high earning remote workers who can contribute to the economy, and someone can prove that he make such income, then why making it so difficult by asking relevant questions ?
Anonymous participant personally I think these difficulties put in the way of applicants are seen as a money spinner for the embassies. They know people will reapply and pay another fee. Just my opinion.
