Applying for single entry visa in uk via online/post. Done many times before. Often they email and request more documents. Today they have asked for medical certification. Have had to tell them can’t get one in uk and questioned if uk was on list for that. 🤞for 24 hours. Will be mortified if my 59 day holiday is not possible.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the difficulties encountered by an individual applying for a Thai Single Entry Visa from the UK, specifically regarding a request for a medical certificate. Responses in the comments highlight that health certificates are becoming mandatory due to COVID-19, and there are concerns about the difficulty of obtaining these documents in the UK. Comments also suggest that individuals may reconsider traveling to Thailand during the pandemic due to restrictions on activities and the requirement for extensive medical coverage.
They want 100,000USD worth of medical cover for Clovid and a medical certificate to say ok to travel within 72 hours of travel. This will be checked at departure from 21st. No have no travel
Don't come. This is their way of closing the border. The medical certificate they want is a Corona virus test, which is impossible to come by in the West unless you have symptoms. Wait it out and take your holiday another time.
Not completely visa related, more common sense related, are you sure you want to spend the next two months in Thailand during this uncertainty? Most "fun" things are closed, bars, nightclubs, social gatherings etc. You would be able to get a full refund due to the virus and come at a later date
A health certificate will become mandatory from the 21st March, both for visa applications in London and for pre boarding any flight to Thailand from U.K.
I think this isn't the right time to go on a holiday. But if the Thai government wants a medical certificate, ask them what exactly they are looking for and tell us, please.
