I have a Non O visa valid until August this year and I totally forgot get a re-entry permit when travelling abroad. When I came back they gave me a 30 days visa stamp on arrival.

Is my non -O visa not valid anymore?

Can I reactivate it somehow?

What is the best solution going forward.

TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you exited Thailand without a re-entry permit, your Non-O visa is no longer valid. To rectify this situation, you will need to apply for a new 90-day Non-O visa, which can be done at a Thai consulate in a nearby country based on your marriage or family ties to a Thai citizen. After obtaining the new visa, you can then apply for a yearly extension based on your marriage once you have 45 days or less left on your new visa.

@Ga**
when you got the first 90 day Non-O visa did you get it at Chaengwattana OR did you go to a thai consulate and get it?

There are a couple ways you can go about getting back on track with FIRST a 90 day Non-O visa and then a yearly extension of stay based on marriage to a thai (which is what you had)

.

Here is the easiest way to do it:

You can go to the thai consulates in Vientiane or Savannakhet Lao OR Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam and get a 90 day single entry Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai without any proof of funds.

You'd get stamped in for 90 days when you enter on that visa.

When you have 45 days or less left on that stamp you go back out to Chaengwattana and apply for a NEW yearly extension.

It would get the 30 day under consideration stamp (just like you got before) then you would go back on that date and get the year extension inked into your passport.

okay there's a couple ways you can rectify this situation AND believe me you're NOT the first person to get a year extension, leave the country without a re-entry permit and lose it.

What you NEED to remember is yearly extensions (which is what you had) are sold without a re-entry permit, <- because you're already HERE in thailand when you get them. You have to buy the re-entry permit either at the immigration office OR at the airport when you fly out.

Gary...Where did you get your Non O ?

Inside Thailand or at a Thai Consulate/Embassy outside Thailand?

Are you married to a Thai?

And/or have a Thai child?

Tod is right, you have an Extension of Stay (EOS) permitted until August 31, 2020. you do not have a Non-Imm-O Visa. Technically the same if you leave Thailand and re-enter without a re-entry permit, both a visa or an EOS will become invalid

@James *******
I got it in Cheang Watthana. I am married to a Thai and have children also

OR depending on WHY you want the non-O visa (marriage, raising half thai children, over 50) you could go to a thai consulate in a nearby country and BUY a new Non-O visa..

Visit your local immigration office and ask if they can convert your exempt visa entry to a Non O and Extension of Stay...

Get their list of requirements.

And hopefully it can be done without the need to go outside Thailand to get the Non O.

And that you still meet the financial requirements for the new Extension of Stay.

Exiting the Kingdom without Re-entry permit means your Non-O is no longer valid. You have to start from scratch.
Tod *********
Yeah, you can't "reactivate it", it's lost and gone now.

you need to start ALL over from scratch, Applying for a 90 day non-O visa based on what ever you got one for then waiting while it goes under consideration, then going back and getting the Non-O visa and a new 90 day stamp inked into your passport AND then waiting until you can apply for a year extension

I think you didn't have a non-O at all, but were on a yearly extension instead.

the reason I say that you don't have a non-O visa is because they are sold only two ways, a 90 day single entry (which would NOT be valid until August ;) AND a year-long, multi--entry which could be valid until August BUT if it was a non-O VISA it'd have been a multi-entry and you'd have gotten stamped in for 90 days.

I think you have a year long extension that you got from the immigration office in your area left the country without getting a re-entry permit AND got stamped in for 30 days on a visa exempt entry when you came back

Hence the reason you're asking how to extend a 30 day visa exempt entry in a post below this.
