🇹🇭 Need Advice Regarding Non-O Visa & 1-Year Extension
Hello everyone,
I would really appreciate some guidance from anyone who has recently gone through a similar situation.
I currently hold a 3-month Non-Immigrant O visa for Thailand. I entered Thailand on 30 July 2026, and my current permission to stay is valid until 26 October 2026.
I have already left Thailand and obtained a Re-Entry Permit, so I understand that my current permission to stay should be preserved when I return.
My plan is to return to Thailand and apply for a 1-year extension of stay based on my Thai daughter.
I am a little confused about the financial requirements and the overall process:
1️⃣ When I re-enter Thailand using my Re-Entry Permit, can I apply for the 1-year extension based on my Thai daughter?
2️⃣ Do I need to maintain 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account, and if so, how long must the money have been in the account before applying?
3️⃣ Is a Thai bank statement/passbook required, or can income of 40,000 THB per month be used instead?
4️⃣ What documents are normally required for an unmarried foreign father applying based on his Thai daughter?
5️⃣ How long before the current permission-to-stay expiry date should I submit the extension application?
6️⃣ After submitting the application, is the 1-year extension normally approved immediately, or is there an under consideration period?
7️⃣ Is the process different depending on the Immigration Office?
I would especially appreciate advice from anyone who has personally completed a Non-O → 1-year extension based on a Thai child, particularly an unmarried father.
Thank you very much in advance for sharing your experience and advice. 🙏🇹🇭
