Sorry I got confused today, and I probably I have this wrong, so please correct if I am, I am on a non immigrant 0. Which in fact may mean I will be applying for an extension of stay in turn I need to leave every 90 days, being over 50 I can apply for a retirement o-a visa which means I have to show 800.000 bhat in the bank for a minimum of 2 months but I can come and go for the first year but the second I need a re-entry visa.

Sorry I am new to this, and obviously read the wrong website before.

And clearly I was wrong about the tourist visa ( thanks for pointing that out before) it's a hard learning process

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion clarifies the process for expats in Thailand transitioning from a Non-O visa to a retirement extension. The user mistakenly thought they had a Non-O-A visa but has a Non-O visa and needs to apply for an extension of stay based on retirement (O-A), requiring proof of 800,000 baht in a bank account for at least 2 months. They are advised to visit the immigration office with necessary documentation before the current visa expiry. The conversation highlights the importance of understanding the difference between a Non-O visa and retirement-related visas and the need for re-entry permits for travel.

Yes
@Tod ********
Thanks for the clarification, I was getting a bit confused between the 2,

I think what was throwing me was the fact they write retirement in the passport and the receipt says the same,

So it's non 0 based on retirement, and my application will be an extension of stay for 12 months, Nonthaburi told me to go in on the 11 march which is 1 month before the expiry of my current visa.

Thanks again for clearing this up for me

yep, you're good to go on that date then, just update your bank book the day you apply, get a new bank letter and you should be fine.

Good Luck (y) report back on how it works okay?

Once you apply for your extension of stay and re-entry permit it will look like this ..

Your Non-O visa and your 90 day stamp should look like this

okay you're on a 90 day Non-O visa you got inside thailand at the immigration office. It should be stamped used and you should have a 90 day stamp in your passport too.

You can't get ANY Non-O-A visa <- those are gotten from a thai consulate in your country BEFORE you wash up here.

What you want is to apply for a yearly extension of stay based on being over 50 (retirement).

When you have 45 days or less (some offices want 30 or less) you go back out to your immigration office with your documentation and the bank letter, updated bank book showing the 800K baht has been in the account for 60 days prior to your application. They will stamp a yearly extension into your passport and AFTER you get that you can buy either a single or multiple re-entry permit

And if u Change this non o to retiried u just Need The Money on a bank Account in he Second year they May Be want to see if The Money is still there And nit Used or Taken.

If u leave thailand u Need an RE entry permit..or Buy a multiple for more then one time...

Yes you are spot on, I got confused before with receipt and the handwritten retirement in my passport, I just read about the re-entry 1000 bhat for one or 3800 for multiple entry,

I think that you are confusing an extension of stay for the purpose of retirement with a non imm o-a multi entry visa. The non imm o-a is obtained in your home country via a Thai Embassy or Consulate. If you are currently in Thailand you would apply for an extension of stay based on retirement. That is good for one year. At the end of that year you will apply for a new extension of stay. If you wish to leave the country during that year you can purchase either a single reentry permit or a multi entry reentry permit.
