American on visa exempt, in regards to tm30 forms, my landlord did one so no problems there, but in regards to getting a copy of a tm30 one from a hotel, I have only been met with blank stares by hotel staff. I thought all hotels file those when a foreigner stays there, or not for only one night?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM30 form is a registration requirement for foreigners staying at a hotel or rented accommodation in Thailand. There is some confusion among hotel staff about the term 'TM30', with many not being familiar with it, though all hotels are legally required to file this form. While it typically applies to more extended stays, it can also affect visa extensions. One user described their experience obtaining a visa extension, which required frustrating paperwork linked to the TM30, emphasizing the challenges foreigners face in dealing with Thai immigration procedures.
