Hi Guys
Just booked a flight to BKK on 24th December returning UK in Jan 2022.
I have a 3 questions:-
1.l have just received my brand new Uk passport, but yet to get my old passport back yet and that old passport has my re-entry permit it it ( l have a 1yr extention based on retirement) and its an O visa.
I do hope my old passport turns up before l fly in 3 more weeks but if it does not will l have an problems at pattaya immigration when l ask them to transfer my "retirement visa" to my new passport?
2. Do l need to book a SHA hotel for 1 night to complete the Thai pass?.
3. Insurance, as l have a return flight booked for mid Jan l assume l only need insurance to cover me until that date, but l expect that l will probably not be returning until much later in 2022 ( The airline do not charge to cancel or alter that flight )
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is traveling to Thailand on a Non-O retirement visa and has concerns about not having received their old passport containing the re-entry permit before their flight. They ask about potential issues at immigration if the old passport doesn't arrive in time, whether they need to book a SHA hotel, and the insurance requirements for their return flight scheduled for mid-January 2022. Other users provide insights regarding the re-entry permit's importance, hotel booking for vaccinated travelers, and insurance proof needed upon entry.
