What should I do if I've missed the 90-day reporting deadline for my DTV visa in Thailand?

Jan 29, 2025
I am DTV visa holder but I forgot to do the 90-days registration at the immigration.

Now I already 20 days over the deadline...

Any advice about what to do ?

Did anyone experienced anything similar ?

I am very concerned and I am afraid of losing my visa.

Thanks in advance !

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about missing the 90-day registration requirement for their DTV visa, now 20 days overdue. Community members reassure that while there is a fine of up to 2000 Baht for late registration, they will not lose their visa for this oversight. It is suggested that they promptly report to the immigration office, prepare necessary documents, and pay the fine to avoid further penalties.

What is this ? I left Thailand after a stay of 5 months with my DTV visa and I didn't have to pay any fee, and I did not report to the Immigration

The 90-days report is a "Notification of staying in the Kingdom for more than 90 days". It is done by filling in immigration form TM47.

"An alien who has been granted permission to temporarily reside in the Kingdom, if staying in the Kingdom for more than 90 days, that alien has a duty to report his/her residence to an Immigration Bureau officer every 90 days.

This is in accordance with Section 37(5) of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522."

What do you have to show for the 90 days report?

You go to the immigration office, bring your passport and fill in the form TM47.

Most immigrations will also want to see a copy of TM30.

what is TM30. Thanks

@Saher ******
it is an address registration of a foreign national. TM30 should be done by hotels/landlords/property owners within 24 hours of a persons arrival.

It can't be done by yourself if you are not the owner of the place where you stay. However you can get a fine (!) if it is not done.

You will NOT lose your visa over this. Do not worry. Max is 2000 fine. I was late once and got agent based at the Imm Office to do it. Cost me 500 Baht

Anonymous participant It was at Jomtien

As you enter there are places on the left that offer services. I just went to one of them and explained. Filled in TM47 gave him 500 Baht and he went and did it in about 20 mins. I am sure other offices have similar services in their vicinity.

No big deal, don't listen to the fear mongering, it's a common mistake. You can ignore the problem until next time you need immigration services at an office and pay the 2000 baht fine then. The fine is the same whether you miss a single report or multiple reporting periods.

You must be new in Thailand. You don't lose a visa over failing to report. You just pay 2000 Baht next time

If you fail to report to Immigration in the 3-week window, you will be fined 2,000 THB. Continuing to ignore the report will increase your penalty the longer you go without doing it. Furthermore, if you are detained by Thai police or Immigration and you are found to have not reported in time, the fee increases to 5,000.

Repeated or serious offenses regarding your 90-day report can, in extreme cases, lead to deportation and blacklisting.

Total rubbish. You can only be fined once irrespective of how late the report is made. Not one person has ever been deported over a late or missing 90-day report. Stop spreading bullsh*t

it's NOT all BS. BUT such harsh actions rarely enforced by a Thai Immigration Office. Max fine is 5,000 Thai baht. But never have heard of extreme measures.

Get your documents ready and go to immigration to do it, pay the fine and done.
