Answer summary
The conversation revolves around an individual who has been denied entry to Thailand despite having the necessary documentation such as a return ticket and proof of financial means. Commenters share their experiences and discuss reasons for denial, suggesting that the individual may have revealed they were working online, which is not allowed on a tourist visa. They recommend various solutions, including applying for a suitable visa like the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa), seeking assistance from an agent, and highlighting the importance of understanding one's immigration history. The discussion emphasizes that being flagged in the immigration system can complicate future entry attempts.

i’ve done multiple entries for different countries as well in a year and stayed for 20-30 days for each, Thailand is just tightening right now and that makes sense. When they asked me why i didn’t got my own country for last 5 months and I said I’m working online ( which is not acceptable for Thailand) and i didn’t knew that. Thats my mistake anyway

@Evo *******
OK. There are 2 reasons you could have been denied and you could have been denied for both of them

1. You have spent more time than was reasonable inside Thailand on visa exempt entries in the last 12 to 18 months

2. You can't legally work remotely from Thailand on a visa exempt entry

If you want to enter Thailand and legally work remotely you need to get yourself a DTV based on Workation which is a 5 year multiple entry visa that allows you to work and stay up to 180 days at a time. It's the only visa that fits your situation
Victor **********
Victor **********
@Evo *******
On visa exemption, the only suitable response is that you're a "vacationer," "traveler," or "tourist." The moment you mention "work," a visa is required. Get the DTV, if you're under the age of 50.
HumbleCate***********
HumbleCate***********
@Evo *******
the reason you was denied was because you said you were working online. That’s illegal, and you need either work permit or the DTV workcation visa

Greg ***********
Sylvia Corley sure, but you should not have told them that you work remotely. . . . because you are not allowed to work online or on a remote job on a tourist visa or on a visa-exemption. For this, you would need to have applied and issued a DTV. If you had told them that you are a tourist travelling in South East Asia to learn more about the culture of the people in these countries, it would have had an extreme effect to your chances
Evo ********

Yeah without knowing more about your circumstances, even with a tourist visa, immigration has the right to deny you. Best is to wait until a new calendar year rows around so that your recent Thailand visit history resets, if you still intend to enter Thailand on tourist visa or visa exempt.

Other way is to apply for DTV outside of Thailand and get approved before trying to enter.

No stamp or no notice in your passport does not mean anything. You got a profile in the Immigration Central Computer system, and the denial of entry got "flagged" in your profile. As soon as an Immigration officer scans your passport, your profile and your complete travel, denial and stamp history will pop up
Martyn *********
Martyn *********
Greg Alexander no entry no stamp no money
Greg ***********
Greg ***********
Martyn Goddard . . . . Surely on a denial of entry, there might be no stamp, but normally he is given a form where the reason is given. AND: on a denial of entry, you get "flagged" in the Central Computer. Every Immigration officer will see it the very moment he scans your passport
Derek ***********
Derek ***********
Greg Alexander I known people who have been kicked out of country for a year and they returned but that was a few years ago
Greg ***********
Greg ***********
Derek Casanares sure, if you get banned for a year and that year has passed, it is back to normal. But a denial of entry was given for a reason, and that reason stays glued to your profile forever, as would be the ban. These notices will always be listed in your profile. If those notices will have any bearing in future entry attempts, this is up to the Immigration officer you are standing in front of. If the reason for the denial has no more weight by then, then he is free to enter
