Why was my DTV visa application rejected and can I get a refund from Muay Thai Fever?

The Thai embassy does not usually provide reasons when a DTV visa is rejected. Because of this, applicants cannot confirm whether the rejection is related to the supporting documents. In our case, I applied for a DTV visa through Muay Thai Fever gym in Chiang Mai, but the application was rejected. The gym informed us that they could not provide a full refund in this situation

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai embassy does not typically provide reasons for rejecting DTV visa applications, leaving applicants uncertain if issues stemmed from documentation or other factors. An applicant who applied for a DTV visa through Muay Thai Fever gym in Chiang Mai shared their rejection experience, which also led to a partial refund issue. Community responses included advice to contact the embassy for specific feedback, warnings against reapplying too soon after a rejection, and suggestions to explore alternative visa options like the METV. Discussions also highlighted the importance of accurate financial documentation in the visa application process.

What's your passport and which embassy did you apply at?

Apply for METV and trying again after you have used that visa. It can give you almost 9 months in Thailand if you plan your border runs in a good matter.

Only in very very few cases you will get anything refunded in Thailand.

Did you have all of your banking records 100% correct and did you go to Vietnam or Indonesia? I bet this is on you. I train at Muay Thai Fever, I got my DTV through Muay Thai Fever and I'm currently sat in Lombok with my friend who got his issued yesterday through Muay Thai Fever. I watch Muay Thsi Fever facilitate hundreds upon hundreds of visas and I know they refund when it's their fault, which is very rare. Were your banking details correct and did you go to Vietnam or Indonesia?

William Frisby then why is there a policy if a DTV visa is rejected, but it requires a letter from the embassy stating that the rejection was because of the gym-when in fact the embassy never provides reasons for visa rejection?

which gym provided your Muay Thai documents?

If it's Muay Thai Fever, that is a good gym with many students which obtained the DTV visa.

For how many months of Muay Thai training did you submit with your DTV application? That now appears to be a critical question....

What is your passport nation?

Did you stay in the country where you submitted your DTV Visa Application in until the decision was known?

How many months of Bank account statements showing 500,000 Thai baht balances did you submit with your application?

It certainly can't hurt to try and contact the embassy for insight into the rejection criteria. Some people have done exactly that and gotten some valuable specific information.

did you contact them after the rejection and ask if they would tell you why?

And yes we know it's rare that the initial rejection letter specifies the reason for rejection or cancellation.

Muay Thai Fever has helped dozens of people in this group and seems to be a really reputable gym. I would guess the rejection had something to do with your financials

This is a difficult one. Was it the gym documentation the root cause or your finances or other issue? If the fault on your end the gym has no reason to refund.

I understand - as I said, it's difficult. You could try asking as others have suggested. Which Embassy was it? Good luck

Sorry to hear that. At FITFAC, we issue a refund in every case of a rejected application (even if it is due to issues related to financial documents).

Moreover, nowadays, if you have already been rejected once, we advise not to apply again (even with us), because the embassy can see the record of multiple DTV application attempts and will outright reject any second application.

You might have to wait 3-6 months before applying a new dtv again.

Interesting about not applying immediately. There have been a few questions about this recently.

would you be able to do it with a new embassy and get around the 3-6 months wait if you are rejected?

my friend applied through Muay Thai and was rejected. He applied at a different embassy right after and was accepted, with the exact same documents. It all seems to be luck of the draw.

We cannot say for certain whether the embassy will reject an application after 3–6 months. However, what we do know is that if your first application was rejected (for example, because of incomplete documents or applying through a Muay Thai gym that is not accredited), then any subsequent attempt — even if you apply again with us — will almost certainly be rejected.

This is because the system is now centralized, and all embassies share the same database. Therefore, there is no benefit in switching embassies after being rejected once.

We think the embassy staff have only recently realized the connected database, since the Thai eVisa system was just introduced at the beginning of this year.

My best pal is quite a senior Diplomat (Not Thai). I was telling him about the DTV. He was amazed about 2 things 1) That the MFA could create a visa and issue it without the interior depth. 2) That embassies do not have fill sight of the system and immigration history of all applicants.

DTV policy is from the order of previous prime minister to streamline visa process to attract more foreigner.

He just gave the order and want it asap. So many things just happen out of the blue without a clear guideline.

2) This thing happen regularly for thai bureaucratic.

Actually you can call the Thai Embassy and get someone on the phone. They are very helpful and will tell you what may have disqualified you as well as tell you what you may need to resubmit to get approved.
