Anyone else already had prior plans to apply for the DTV not in their native country? I’m supposed to fly to Hanoi to apply on the 31st:(((

Is this being applied across all embassies everywhere, or is this specific embassies? How certain is this? If would staying in Vietnam for an extended period of time with a long-term lease (3 or 6 months) meet those requirements?
I got rejected today. I honestly thought my documents were complete and valid. It might have been affected by the new rule — after August 31, you can no longer submit applications while on a tourist visa in Vietnam. Hope this information helps.
Yes sadly 2 of the places i tried to apply last year already had this PR rule or couldn't approve before my visa in that country ran out of days. Has anyone had any good experiences applying from USA? Do they require multiple years of tax returns, in person visits (my state of domicile is probably 1000 miles from the corresponding embassy / consulate.
Vietnam people and Lao people were all incredibly kind towards me. I am surprised as well that we are even granted access. Not all Americans support what our government was and currently is involved in though. I hope one day to have a second passport for when everything hits the fan.
I feel like this line has been overused about a million times. Amazing country, but Vietnam will one day revamp their system too. What country wants criminals on the run settling down in their country. I hope all of these countries start vetting their visitors better.
