Applied for a DTV visa from London Embassy, am currently on ‘pending approval’ stage. Have been for 5 days so far. Would love to speak to someone at the embassy as flight is quickly approaching. Has anyone had any luck with phone calls/replying to emails?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has applied for a DTV visa from the London Embassy and is currently waiting for approval, expressing concern due to an approaching flight. Other users share their experiences regarding similar waiting times, with some emphasizing the importance of contacting the embassy via email and phone for expedited processing. Suggestions include detailing flight dates in the communication and noting that the embassy's response times may vary due to the holiday season.
I applied with London Embassy on the 1st (in the evening), supplied additional documents on the 3rd and got approved today at 6pm! I think it went to pending approval stage on the 16th. Hope that helps, good luck!
Mine pending approval for 3 weeks , got approved 2 weeks before my flight , stressful but it should get approved before your flight , I was told they approve by when people's are flying out .
Applied from London myself, didn't have to reach back out to them but it certainly can't do any harm. I'd suggest both an email detailing and re-affirming (with attachments) your flight date and times and politely requesting an expediated review. Call them to follow this up once emailed. No guarantees either way but a polite call can't do any harm. the sooner the better too with it being the holiday season.
