What should I do about my 90-day report if I leave Thailand before it's due?

Hi! I know that a 90day report is you reporting that you’re in the country for those consecutive 90days.

I have plans to leave Thailand and visit family during the time my next 90day report is actually due.

Do I skip submitting my next 90day report because technically I won’t be in the country? I will return a few weeks after it’s due.

And if I do skip, who tells me when my next 90day is due from when I re-enter?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are leaving Thailand and will not be in the country when your next 90-day report is due, you do not need to submit the report for that period. The reporting requirement is only applicable if you are in Thailand for the full 90 days. When you return, the countdown for your next report starts anew from your arrival date. It's important to note that although you may receive a reminder for a report when you return, you should keep track of your reporting dates on your own, starting from your day of re-entry.

I will relate my personal experience, I came back in to thailand Nov 11, (meaning my next 90 day report would be due Feb 8th)

I filed a TM30 online while waiting in baggage claim for my luggage (even though i was returning to my primary address) 🙂

Then 2 weeks before my 90 day report due date I filed a 90 day report online and it was approved the following Monday

SO I can confirm IF you come back to the country, IF you file a TM30 updating your entry date, etc, you CAN use the online system (at least for Bangkok 🙂 )

The requirement to report is only if you are in Thailand for 90 consecutive days. If you were to leave on day 89 the requirement to report finishes (even though you could technically report 15 days prior).

If you were to leave on day 93 the requirement to report is needed even though you technically have 7 days after the report is due. You may get away with not reporting but an eagled eyed officer may spot you didn’t report previously when you go to do your next one and slap a 2,000 baht fine on you.

The “clock” resets the day you return. Regardless that you may have a piece of paper in your passport or the online report system says you are due. It doesn’t know you’ve left and returned.

Thanks. So I just do my own math to figure my next 90day window and I report on time from there.

Yes if you're not in the country you don't report. You need to work out the dare of your next report yourself, date of entry is day 1

Thanks! Ok. So the next 90days from when I return (with starting day #1), will I be able to do that 90day report online like I’ve done all the others? Or do I have to go to immigration in person since I left and came back?

@Khela **********
It seems to depend on the local immigration office. Some require a “fresh” TM30 report every time you return to the country. Some don’t care. Some require a “fresh” TM30 report if you’ve stayed at a hotel in another province as that “overwrites” your current TM30. The 90 day report routes to your local immigration office for approval. Whether you can file online is subject to their conditions.

maybe/maybe not. Try it online and if it doesn't work go in person

and you might need to file a TM30 address registration with Thai Immigration upon your return to Thailand. ASK your Thai Immigration office for their requirements for the TM 30.

Even though I live here and my address didn’t change?

correct...even though you live here and your address didn't change. It appears that Thai Immigration requires a TM30 address registration when you return to Thailand. ASK your Thai Immigration office for their requirements for the TM 30.

The change is related to the OVERSTAY issue and is in addition to the filing of a New TM30 being required for any services you may need from Thai Immigration.

I already live in Thailand. I’m in BKK for years.

then you most likely use CW Chaengewattana Immigration Office in Bangkok.

I believe that CW Chaengewattana Immigration Office is requiring a new TM30 when you re-enter Thailand. Even if you are still living at the same address now on file with Thai Immigration.
James ********
Then you don't Report it, IF you are out of Thailand.

The Next 90 day report begins with Day #1, on the day you return to Thailand.

you can try to do it on-line. BUT most Thai Immigration offices are now requiring a New TM30 address registration be filed with Thai Immigration when you return to Thailand.

Try it online and if that does not work, then you will have to go to the Thai Immigration office.
