What Should I Do About My 90-Day Report While Traveling Back to the US?

Hello there,

I am going back home to the US for a 3 month long stay. I'm leaving beginning of April and returning end of July. I have a non-immigrant, year long visa and a work permit. What should I do about my 90 day report? I won't be here, so what happens then? In general, are there things I should be proactive about before leaving/while I am gone? Thanks in advance for any insight/suggestions.

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are leaving Thailand and will not be present when your 90-day report is due, you do not need to worry. Your next 90-day report will be due 90 days after your return to Thailand. It's important to note that you should also obtain a re-entry permit before leaving Thailand, which can be done at the immigration office to save costs.

okay as far as the 90 day report it works this way

IF you're in thaland when your 90 day report is due you report,

IF you leave thailand BEFORE your 90 day report is due your next 90 day report is due 89 days from the date you stamp back IN to thailand.

Just remember to buy the re entry permit at immigration office sharmoota...it costs less than the airport one

All re-entry permits cost the same. Where or what is a sharmoota?

You do your 90 day report whenever you're in Thailand for more then 90 days. If you're in the USA, then you are not in Thailand, therefore you will not do a 90 day report until 90 days after you return.

Will I get "penalized" or something because I am not in the kingdom with my 1 year visa? Or is it nothing to worry about?

If you're not here when 90 day report is due don't worry about it. Your next 90 day report will be 90 days from reentry
