Hi gang. My 90 day report is due on January 6th. I'm heading to Vientienne for a week, leaving Jan. 3rd and return on the 10th. I COULD go in on Jan 2nd when Chiang Mai Immigration reopens from New Year holiday but I was wondering if it's necessary. If I leave the country before the 90 day is due does the clock still reset? TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you leave Thailand before your 90-day reporting due date, you do not need to report. Your next 90-day report will be calculated from the date you re-enter Thailand.

So in your case, IF your due date is the 6th BUT you're leaving on the 3rd, you do NOT need to file a 90 day report.

When you come back and stamp in on the 10th your next 90 day report will be due on April 8th.

It resets...

The way the 90 day reporting calendar works is

IF you are in the country when your 90 day due date comes up you need to report.

IF you leave the country before that date, your next 90 day report is 89 days from the date you stamp back into the country, They count the day you stamp in as day one.
