Hi Group,

This will be my first visit to Thailand as a married man on a non O visa. What is the process for TM 30. We have our own home in Thailand and that I will be staying at. Do we have to register our home? Do we have to visit immigration or can it be completed online?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the TM30 registration process for expats in Thailand, specifically for someone arriving on a Non-O visa. The primary requirement is that the householder (the Thai spouse) must visit the local immigration office with necessary documents, including a blue housebook and ID. Online registration is possible if the householder has registered for the online system. The procedure must be completed within 24 hours of arrival.

ok, we're done, this isn't gonna turn into another "do I or don't I" TM30 thread :P

if householder regustered for online can do o.line but guess as your asking the question they are not. You can do at local immigration but househder needa to be with you or they give you power of attourney which is a pain, if your here on 30 day exemptuon and no longer dont bother with it

married with a Thai National, having a Non Immigrant O visa for that, so gets 90 days, and they own a house, or as you say they are the householder. No power of Attorney needed and no 30 day Visa Exempt Entry

they said they have their own home so there's no problem with his wife registering at all

Have your wife go to the online web-portal and register to use the system. Have her upload her thai i/d and her house book listing or the chanote. She'll get a user name and a temp password, can access the system change the password then use it any time to register you online without any hassles at all

This is a TM30 question. I'm not sure how to copy posts here, but it's an extremely common question. You can read more about it on

Basically, you have 24 hours after you arrive at a location to file a TM30.

To file the TM30, you'll need:

TM30 form (acquired at

Signed copy of the passport page

Signed copies ID card and blue book of land/house owner.

And in some offices copy of rental contract.

Assuming the house and home are synonymous

most likely the house is registered to your Thai wife. She will have a "blue housebook" in Thai that is proof she lives there. Your wife, her ID card and her blue housebook and you must visit the immigration office which serves your area, and register a new TM30. You will have to bring your passport and the TM6 departure card which is stapled inside your passport
Gregor **********
fill out all the required information and send. The confirmation of the successful registration and the issueance of password, by immigration, might take any time from 2 hours to 2 days or in some cases 2 weeks

alternatively you can register for the online filling out of TM30 . .

If it his his first time, I would recommend they both visit immigration, and yes HIS passport is required plus the TM6 card

You don’t necessarily have to go. Just the person doing the reporting. My wife did mine on her own with my passport.
Gregor **********
no appointment required at Immigration. depending on your area and the frequency of visitors, you may have to expect some waiting time if there is a queue
Gregor **********
normally you have to register a new TM30 within 24 (and some immigrations 48 ) hours after your arrival from abroad
