I am going to be flying to the Kingdom in a couple of months with a Non O-A for the first time. I already have lease for a rental house in Chiang Mai but I have not lived in that house yet.
When I arrive, my understanding is to call my Owner/Landlord and inform him of my arrival. Depending on my arrival time, I may not talk with him until the next morning, and he is supposed to file my TM30 online. He lives in Bangkok.
What exactly do I have to do with Immigration after I arrive?
TLDR : Answer Summary
Upon your arrival in Thailand with a Non O-A visa, the immediate concern is to ensure that your landlord files the TM30 registration, which is mandatory for all foreigners staying in Thailand. If your landlord is unable or unwilling to do this, you may need to complete the TM30 registration yourself, which requires their household documents and ID. Chiang Mai Immigration is open seven days for TM30 registration, so it is advisable to visit them as soon as possible. Additionally, you should consider your plans for obtaining a Residency Certificate after arrival, as this is necessary for applying for a Thai driver's license and opening a bank account.
